Last Saturday, it was high of 72 degrees and the leaves were falling on the beautiful gorgeous autumn day. I could not have asked for more perfect weather and day to spend getting to know the beautiful soul of Emily as we took her photos through South Central Kentucky countryside and at Lindsay Wilson Kentucky University which she is planning to attend next year. Enjoy! Enjoy and God Bless Y'all!
Let me start off by saying: I wish I could make certain stories up, but I can’t. Lord, grant me more patience and peace as a parent.
The last few weeks at our house have been crazy, it seemed like there was always something going on. My six year old mentions one day that her toilet is not working, while I was fixing dinner, so I tell her to use my bathroom and didn’t think twice. My three year old comes mentions after dinner “Oh no! We’ve got to rescue Tigger from the Woozles!” Did we fix said toilet right away? No... we actually put it off, because we soon got Cameron to tell us the story of how Mickey and Pooh went on a Super Slueth mission down to the “ocean” and they will never be coming back. So, Cameron sent Tigger after them on a rescue mission and clogged the toilet. Last week, after watching the movie FLUSHED AWAY (2006), he decided he would get the the jar of honey (HOT WATER+DAWN SOAP) in his bedroom dripping off a bedside table and a tiny Winnie the Pooh pot, Cameron had set a trap hoping that his Pooh would find his way back up the toilet from the ocean and back home to him. Bless his heart. We were able to save Tigger, but we weren’t able to save Mickey and Pooh. This is where his imagination has really run wild and beyond reality. My house is a complete wreck still from the various other messes such as half gallon of milk in living room carpet. If I have a missed call from you, I deeply apologize, I will get to you as soon as I can. Enjoy the little moments. More than likely I’m on google looking for cleaning recipes or saving my sanity. We will be laughing about the Adventures of Tigger and Pooh for years to come, but if you hear a nervous laugh, now you know. Enjoy! Danielle Keltner Adair County High School, Thank you all for the opportunity for me to capture these moments for years to come. Everyone looked gorgeous! Also, huge thank you to all of those who let us use their location to show God's creation as a beautiful backdrop put these sessions over the top. You all are amazing in every way! Keep your head up and shoulders back. Enjoy!
There is a copy paste going around I’m sure you’ve seen:
R.I.P. America !!! You went soft on discipline. You raised the cost of living so high that both parents are always at work, rather than spending time with their children. You took God out of schools. Parents were told 'No you can't discipline your kids'. Kids have rights blah, blah, blah. Well. America!! You shall reap what you sow, we have lost generations of offspring that have turned into selfish, disrespectful brats who have no respect for people, property or authority! Things need to change! Copy & paste if you have the guts too!!! Give me an Amen if you agree.....! Please let me continue, I agree with this, but I REALLY do wish it was worded differently. There is spiritual warfare that has been is not being taken seriously, and seems to have been taken out of the churches and church sermons because it is too scary to talk about. Especially at home. Growing up as a girl, I was told NOT to talk about: Religion, Sex, Taxes, How much money your spouse/parents made, Politics. What was I supposed to talk about I have been asked? Good question because I remember being told many times, “You’re weird” “Hush” “You think too much.” Listen, I know that there are brats that do not listen to their parents, yes, it may start at home. I was 16 when I was bus monitor and my first day I had a 5 year old cuss me out, I went home and I was like “MOM! DID YOU KNOW THEY COULD SAY THAT?!” What did she do? She laughed at me! I know my mom is going to read this. Hi mom. But at one time, there used to be the line, “It take a villages.” Right? Or was that only when there was a post office in and school in every section? When did county schools change this philosophy? There was a time when women weren’t always paranoid and that there was a creeper with live feed with child porno.... The world has changed! It also has changed that not every young mom that you see standing without a husband is not a single mom. Or what about women that don’t wear jewelry from personal choice or because it breaks them out literally. As for the word discipline. There needs to be a better understanding. Do you know that family? Have you taken the time to pray for that family? Honestly? If there is one thing I’ve learned over the past year and half of trying different tactics with my youngest and nothing working and feeling like like “well this may be the way of life now” or “fearing to leave the house” GUESS WHAT? That is not God, and that is not right. Yet, there was no one around to tell me other wise, I had no help. Finally, something just broke through like a light bulb. I need to give it to God. We need help and it is literally out of our control. Insight, spanking your child DOES NOT always work. Believe it or not, it makes your child more violent. Gasp! I know!?!?!? Who knew?! My pet peeve right now is about telling everyone that they are needing to go and help with addiction and stop the bullying in community, yet when your kids over hear you talk about other moms or women, guess what they are telling their friends at school about that kids mom? Do you know how many times I’ve over heard growing up “so and so can’t go to so and so’s house because so and so’s mom is a skank. or dad’s looks like he is queer or her dad may have done drugs at one time” what about church? Lets invite someone to church but when they do come and dress in their “best” but their best may be a “girls night out” dancing club... They don’t know, their eyes have not been open to the Lord, but if you TRULY want them to be saved, you will LOVE them as Christ loved you. You will open your arms as a sister and welcome them. Please pray for guidance for those who need it and don’t know who to ask because either they are afraid to ask or they don’t know who to ask or where to ask. Or just MAYBE they have asked someone and they have been given really bad advice. By the way I was in an ill spirit, my husband was parking cars at church on a Sunday service morning. I was carrying TWO coffee cups like I needed extra coffee and I got sympathy looks like I was a single mom with multiple dads. Seriously? I know I need Jesus, but I love you more that I can tell you.
I am not complaining. My life is a roller coaster and there is NEVER a dull moment. I know later in life my husband and I will laugh about these messes. Truthfully, I did hide in closet and cry, but I also read the bible for help. I don't know about you, but I need Jesus everyday. For now, I can dream of a more organized and protected home from these creative children. If you have any other couch cleaning remedies I am open for suggestions. I've tried everything except bleach, but don't have much hope for this couch lasting much longer.
Enjoy the little moments, they slip away too fast. |
